A cozy two-storey private house with a symmetrical layout, a small terrace, and floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows. The house is designed in a minimalist architectural style, simple and functional for a single-family residence.
For the interior finishes, treated CLT panels were used, featuring pre-cut openings for electrical sockets and pre-milled channels for wiring on the back side of the panels.
Main Part Design OÜ Responsibilities
Development of the structural BIM model, including electrical sockets and conduits
Structural calculations, including overall building stiffness and structural connection analysis
Production drawings, including part and assembly drawings
Production specifications and shipping lists
General arrangement drawings
Structural Overview
Load-bearing exterior and interior timber-frame walls
Roof structure: gang-nailed plate rafters
The building’s stiffness was ensured by transferring roof and ceiling diaphragms loads to the walls, which acted as shear walls through the action of the structural sheathing
Glulam stiffening frames with concealed steel plates, joined with dowels and bolts, were installed in the panoramic window area
Wall diaphragms are anchored using the Rothoblaas system hold-downs and chemical anchors
