This is a two-storey private house with a garage, located in Stockholm, Sweden. This classic Swedish-style home is situated on a hillside with large panoramic windows overlooking the sea bay and mountains. The main architectural concept was the use of massive glued laminated beams in the floor structures to give a sense of solidity and reliability.

Structural Overview
Load-bearing exterior and interior timber-frame walls
Roof structure: gang-nailed plate rafters
The building’s stiffness was ensured by transferring roof and ceiling diaphragms loads to the walls, which acted as shear walls through the action of the structural sheathing
Wall diaphragms are anchored using the Rothoblaas system hold-downs and chemical anchors
