Alstahaug

Location: Alstahaug, Norway

This is a very small but unique project with complex geometry and structural solutions — a waiting pavilion in Alstahaug Harbor.

Main Part Design OÜ was responsible for:

• Development of the structural BIM model
• Structural calculations, including stiffness of the house and structural connection calculations
• Production drawings, including part and assembly drawings
• Production specifications and shipping lists
• General arrangement drawings

Structural Overview

• Load-bearing exterior and interior timber-frame walls
• Roof structure: roof element made from timber I-beams to allow installation of ventilation pipes inside the roof core
• Several complex steel connections, supporting columns, and steel beams integrated within the external walls and roof
